Success in Grades K-2
Guadalupe Center’s After-school Tutoring & Summer Enrichment programs are vital academic and developmental resources for kindergarten through second-grade students in Immokalee. Operating five days a week across all five local elementary schools, the program provides targeted academic support, character development, and a safe, nurturing environment after the school day ends and throughout the summer.
The primary goal is to close the achievement gap and help students reach reading proficiency by third grade. In addition to building core skills in literacy and math, the program supports social-emotional growth and ensures students are prepared for continued academic success—during the school year and beyond.

Alex Sees Learning Gains Through After-School Tutoring
Unable to speak English, 7-year-old Alex started the school year with low letter and number recognition, and he had a tough time being in the classroom and following directions because he had never been in a structured school setting.
He started attending the Guadalupe After-school Tutoring Program, receiving small group instruction and individualized help from the high school Tutor Corps students. These helpers provide the support he needs with his homework, sight words and reading. As a result, he has improved tremendously!
